NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- It may seem like a far-fetched idea, but the point of reality TV is for it to be realistic.

The New York Reality TV School teaches wannabe reality TV stars how to get noticed in front of casting agents.

Turns out, the key to landing a TV gig is to simply be yourself.

School spokesman Robert Galinsky says a common mistake wannabes make while auditioning is trying to act like Omarosa, Puck from the "Real World," or any other reality vets with lots of drama.

Instead of acting the part, he suggests aspiring reality stars find what's "unique and authentic" about their own lives and refrain from faking anything.

For example, if you're typically shy and reserved, Galinsky says you shouldn't pretend to be boisterous while auditioning.

And if you're a basket case, then don't act composed -- be a basket case.

Galinsky says nobody is too boring for reality TV, and the school helps students bring out their personalities for the cameras.
